Why is Apple today all about new stupid products, refresh in an odd direction with 'colors' always.

I had the idea that Apple should get their MacOS running on an iPad in November 2023, such that the same chip architecture could benefit from a full operating system that is ARM based. But seeing that they just launched this macbook neo, it's an odd direction.

Why didn't they ship an iPad with it on, such that new iPads can run a full operating system, perhaps even just the Pro for creatives and work in computer science. Then this would've allowed, the introduction of Touch in the UX for a fully fledged operating system which microsoft windows already has allowing for developers to build unique applications for MacOS that is enhanced with touch. Makes no sense. They could've just used a cheap older mX chip. Perhaps they are doing their usual Apple strategy of small steps, slow innovation, they'll ship that in 2 years from now.

These kinds of decisions are really making me want to switch back to Windows for development and work in the future. I can't wait to get a touch based Thinkpad and linux running with their latest WSL2 (see if they've resolved their fwrite IO issues for fast ext3 performance).
